I Dr.Mohammed Siddique, is a Senior Fellow of Higher Education Academy, UK and working in Majan University College (MUC) as Assistant Professor and Head of Registry Systems and Examinations since 2011. I have previously worked as a Director of Studies and Programme Manager in the Faculty of IT. I am a Senior Member of IEEE and a guide to the Undergraduate students at MUC, Oman Section. I have around 22+ years of academic and industrial experience in Oman, South Korea and India in teaching different IT subjects in reputed colleges to diploma and undergraduate students from various universities. I have coordinated and developed many real-time large-scale applications in IT companies using both Microsoft and Java platforms with latest technologies on several domains. I have a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD), Masters in Computer Applications, BSc in Computer Science and postgraduate diploma certifications. My area of interest in research includes Image processing, artificial intelligence, data science, computer networking and distributed & parallel computing.



My Responsibilities: Administration
• Managing and maintaining academic records, course registrations, grading systems, transcript services and graduation/classification processes in alignment with university policies and accreditation standards. These include: Student Registrations, Time tables, Invigilation schedule, Results verification and Exam board preparation. Additionally, coordinate in Staff recruitment, Tutor Planning and Prepare Annual Programme Monitoring Reports.
• Coordinating closely with faculty, administrative staff, and students to ensure accurate scheduling, curriculum updates, and policy implementation.
• Liaison between the College and the University, facilitating alignment on academic regulations, degree requirements, and reporting obligations.
• Collaborated with the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MOHERI), Sultanate of Oman to ensure compliance with the education standards, timely data reporting, and institutional accreditation processes.
• As a Product Owner, oversee functionality and usability of the Integrated Campus Management System (ICMS), a student information system ensuring its alignment with academic policies and institutional needs.
• Lead a cross-functional team in the continuous enhancement and upgrading of the ICMS, ensuring it supports efficient academic records management and evolving stakeholder requirements.


My Responsibilities: Teaching
• Teaching Information technology subjects to Bachelors and Master of Science students in a self-contained 30:1 classroom setting. Supervising technology projects to final year students on Microsoft/Java platform and Networking/Smart Applications.
• Guiding students to do System study and preparing Requirement Specification, deploying the feedback module and Server side as well as Client side procedures for system development.
• Maintain excellent classroom management skills and an ability to keep students on task.
• Use behavior modification techniques as a motivator for improving conduct and encouraging participation.
• Integrate multiple teaching styles to intensify the range of learning.
• Guided reading lessons to model questioning, clarification, and problem solving techniques.
• Assist with the formulation of Individual Education Programs, and generate quarterly report cards.
• Evaluate student progress and support recommendations for further student development.
• Attend and participate in Special Education staff conferences.
• Guided and Manage large and complex software projects to students.

I have known Mohammed Siddique since he joined the Majan University College (MUC) in September 2011 in my capacity as Associate Dean for Quality Assurance and Registry and later as Deputy Dean (Academic Dean). Siddique is a senior lecturer working in the Faculty of Information Technology and the Director of Studies (DoS). He teaches modules in the area of Software Engineering and networking. He teaches on both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. On both programmes he has achieved good rapport with both students and staff. As a Director of Studies he guides and support his colleagues in maintaining and enhancing students experience while teaching and curriculum development.

I found out that Siddique’s students showed strong levels of satisfaction with his teaching methods and approaches. He is very pleasant with students and has the capabilities that allow him to be a good lecturer. Students find him approachable and agreeable. Over the years he has also mentored number of newly appointed staff members, helping them to settle in and guiding them in relation to the College’s teaching requirements.

Mr. Siddique proved himself over the years and progressed from a senior lecturer (2011) to become programme manager (February, 2013), Director of Studies for the programmes offered in the faculty of Information Technology in September 2015 onward. He is responsible for planning and managing resources, timetabling classes and invigilation duties and managing students’ performance. He also provided leadership in terms of advising and managing students’ requests and queries. He maintains a professional relationship with students and his colleagues. Working closely with his colleagues in his capacity as a Director of Studies, Siddique takes the lead in ensuring that appropriate standards are maintained and maintaining the currency and validity of the programmes. I always found Siddique to be thorough and with an eye for detail. His analytical and statistical skills were evident on various occasions. He participated in the Institutional Standard Assessment application to the Academic Accreditation Authority and possesses a good understanding of the College’s systems and procedures. He is also a member of various committees in the College, such as, Unfair means Committee, Mitigating Circumstances Committee, Academic Management Team, Academic Board and others.

When I joined Majan University College (MUC) in September 2013, Mohammed Siddique was working as Programme Manager and Senior Lecturer since September 2011 in the Faculty of Information Technology. Later in 2015, he was promoted as Director of Studies and is a member of Academic Management Team which is more operational. Both of us work together to promote the quality of teaching and learning in the faculty. I had the opportunity to work closely with Mohammed and I acknowledge that he maintains good relationship with the students; his class is mostly interactive; Mohammed has a soft tone and talks politely with the students. He knows his students very well and pays particular attention to the students’ needs especially for students at risk. He motivates the students and keeps them engaged throughout the teaching time.

Mohammed is responsible for mentoring the newly joining staff members into the faculty and provide extensive support making them familiar and comfortable with the documentation and various internal systems. He visits and observes the teaching of various colleagues and invites them to observe his class as well. He is responsible for timetabling and scheduling of the semester’s planning and execution. Mohammed is also responsible and contributes positively and effectively for the evaluation of academic programmes offered in the faculty and leads the various steps in programme review, design of new programmes and reviewing the effectiveness of programmes offered. He leads the process of preparing comprehensive reports highlighting great attention confirming the accuracy and precision of results and progression of the students. Mohammed works closely with the teaching staff asking them to update the teaching material on the e-learning platform along with updates in the resources such as Library support and purchase and installation of any software and/or hardware needed for the successful delivery of the module.

He has many personal qualities to perform well in a multilingual, multicultural environment with high degrees of integrity, hard work and attention to detail is constantly demonstrated in his work. Through his role as Director of Studies he has a strong influence on the documentary framework and professional climate in which his colleagues operate, both within his Faculty and College-wide. He also shapes College practices through his committee work, and inducts new colleagues as a mentor. In my view, he is a good example of someone who is a reflective practitioner and who has a noticeable and positive impact on the attitudes and performances of his colleagues.
